Who can play? There are separate boys and girls divisions, 1st grade through 6th grade. We do allow K to play up to 1st grade.
How much does it cost to register? Registration cost is $60 per child (plus processing fees) with $20 discount for each additional child.
Is the registration fee refundable if the season is canceled for any reason? Yes. $60 will be refunded if the season is cancelled. Unfortunately, the processing fees cannot be refunded.
Is there anything else to buy? Players will be responsible for cost of uniform and basketball shoes. Newcastle All Sports Association will provide player insurance (gap or secondary) and insurance for facilities at Newcastle Schools.
Can players request a certain team or coach? Yes, during the registration process you can put in any special requests. We will do our best to make every request possible that we can. However, not all requests will be able to be fulfilled. We cannot guarantee or promise that you will be placed with the coach or other players that you request.
When will practices start? Your coach will communicate practice start times.
What size basketball do I need? 27.5 for 1st and 2nd grade. 28.5 for 3rd – 6th grade.
When will our first game be? Games usually begin mid December. Games our mainly played on Saturday with some on Sunday.
When is our last game? The last regular season game is usually the end of February followed by a postseason tournament the week of first week of March.
What towns participate? The league consists of Newcastle, Noble, Bridge Creek, Blanchard, Dibble, Washington, Purcell, Lexington, Chickasha and Tuttle. Home games are played in Newcastle, away games are played at one of the participating towns.
