Coaches’ Code of Conduct
Expected behavior from coaches, scorekeepers and other adults on the field.

1.      Provide a sports environment that is free of tobacco, drugs, and alcohol and refrain from using tobacco, drugs, and alcohol at all youth sports events.

2.     Treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development of players.

3.      Provide a safe playing environment.

4.      Review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries.

5.      Organize practices that are fun and challenging.

6.      Lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship.

7.      Obscene or demeaning language is not acceptable at any time.

8.      Arguing with umpires is not acceptable behavior. Treat umpires with respect and professional courtesy.

9.      Address inappropriate parent and fan behavior in a calm and subtle manner.

10.  Promote good sportsmanship by honoring the rules of the game and displaying a positive attitude.

11.  Arguing with opposing coaches, players or supporters is not acceptable at any time.

12.  Be knowledgeable in the rules of each sport coached and teach the rules to the players.

13.  Use coaching techniques appropriate for each age group.

14.  Remind parents that a refund of sign up fees will not be given after the schedule is set.

15.  Remove all trash from your playing and practice areas as well spectator areas after each game and practice.

16.  Remember that the game is for children and not adults.

17.  Encourage your players. 

18.  Have fun and enjoy coaching little league sports
